SuperDrive Delivers Third CVT Equipped Bus To Paducah Area Transit System.

SuperDrive, Inc. (SDI) has delivered the third commercial application of their fuel efficient SuperDrive CVT. Test results show 20% less fuel consumption while en route results confirm at least that much savings. Meanwhile, the vehicle runs at an engine RPM of 1500 while performing its job, reducing engine wear, emissions, and noise levels. Also, noticeably reduced braking efforts are required which will reduce driver fatigue and brake wear. No maintenance issues have been identified after tens of thousands of test and en route miles have been logged.

SuperDrive Is Chosen For Initial Installation Of CVT In A Refuse Truck By The City Of East Chicago, Indiana.

The Sanitary Board of the City of East Chicago, Indiana, approved the purchase of a SuperDrive (SDI) CVT System for one of their newest Freightliner refuse trucks for field testing. SDI intends to partner with their supplier of their control module to install controls that will also prevent premature wear and damage to the refuse body by control the acceleration and deceleration rate of the hydraulic cylinders used for loading, compaction, and unloading. The City of East Chicago intends to use grant funds available for reducing their use of fuel and emission levels in their trucks.

Additionally, SDI has proposed the use of their fuel saving and emission reducing transmission in the City’s transit buses. The potential for savings in fuel alone amounts to nearly $10,000 of fuel savings annually. Additional savings in brake wear, engine wear, and transmission maintenance that also allow the buses to have additional up time could exceed another $10,000 annually.
